About that Doctor Who casting news

Yeah, that news.

My brief reaction is under the cut, but you can look at my little mood selection there and decide if you want to click.


Yeah, I'm not exactly upset that DT is leaving. In fact, I wish it had happened sooner. The show was finally going in an interesting direction at the start of the fourth season and then it regressed for the "big" finale, which basically sucked. Bring on a new Doctor, and let it be one I will like.

And it just struck me that there's going to be a boatload of really "interesting" fanfic stemming from this news, as well as a truly huge helping when the big event takes place onscreen. Fun days ahead!

I don't see how it was DT that was the 'problem' whereas I don't like the new 'premise' or 'feel' of the show (CG's fine mind you). I absolutely knew that he was going to announce he was going to leave during this 'break' no matter what he said. DT can do so much more than play an angsty space alien!

We're at number eleven then...that means...the Valeyard.

Yeah, mostly the writing bothered me and IMO pretty much ruined the Tenth Doctor. Even if DT stuck around for another actual season with good writing, I'm not sure his Doctor could be salvaged in my eyes.

I'd love to see the Valeyard next. That would be different and fun.
