NaNoWriMo progress

I hate my plot and my characters. I like my spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

I don't think this is an ideal situation.

5845 / 50000 words. 12% done!

I think it's possibly the most unideal situation ever! *hugs*

Thanks. I'm giving it another go today, with a different scene and a new character. Maybe yesterday was my lowest point.

I'm not doing NaNoWriMo, but that sounds frighteningly like all my attempts to write, ever. Must be why the fic attempts that I've posted on my LJ are all locked...

I realize now that I should have put a lot more thought into this project before starting it. I'll just have to slog through it somehow.

Is it alright for me to tell you that it will get better as you go along? I generally hate all my plots...especially the one involving the Doctor accidently putting on Tegan's mini-skirt in the morning. You can do it!

If I'm allowed to tell myself to STFU and just write the stupid thing, you're definitely allowed to say something encouraging. :)

I think that's how I feel every year by the second week. Then I end up making something completely cracked out happen so I can like them again.

So it's not just me? That's actually good to hear.

Well, if the forums over at http://www.nanowrimo.org are any indication, it seems to happen to a lot of people. The nice thing about having it happen early is that you can alter and change them to make them less annoying to write or throw some strange and interesting plot thing at them without it seeming to come out of nowhere.

I'm sure the forums would be useful and I was planning to use them a lot, except that I haven't been able to access them for the past five days. The site is either down when I visit, or it goes down within two minutes of my logging in. The most I've managed to do is update my word count a few times before the site dies yet again. :(

They apparently added another server last night, so hopefully that will make the site function better. I found the forums really helpful in previous years, so I hope they get things working.
