Christmas recap
Dec. 31st, 2008 06:11 pmI just realized that I never made a Christmas roundup post. So here one is! It was nice and quiet here, with no annoying relatives visiting, but it included gifts, so it was loads better than Thanksgiving was in pretty much every respect.
I received Christmas cards from some of you guys (much appreciated!) as well as:
six-month Doctor Who Big Finish subscription--when I mentioned having subscribed to a relative, she said she hadn't yet bought me a gift and offered to cover the cost of this one. :D
DVDs
Smallville, seasons 1 and 2. These seasons, having lots of Lex and Lionel in them, make me happy.
Moonlighting, seasons 1-3 of a great show.
Veronica Mars, season 1. I fell in love with this show from the first minute I saw it. Still miss it, too.
The Dark Knight (making me one of the last people in the world to see it), The X-Files: I Want to Believe (I wanted it even though I'd heard it sucked hard), Stardust (I heard this one was very good), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (I missed it in the theater), The Big Country (classic Western and a great favorite of mine).
Books about my favorite sport, horse racing!
The Longest Shot (about Lil E. Tee, upset winner of the 1992 Kentucky Derby); Dr. Fager; Women of the Year (fillies and mares that won Horse of the Year titles)
Clothes
Store gift cards
Obviously I mostly got stuff I wanted as opposed to "needed" but that was the fun of things. :)
