Well, to be fair, something had to air opposite Lost, and the shows appealed to somewhat different audiences. If enough people had liked Life enough to watch it instead of Lost (or just to watch it at all), rather than the other way around, it would have been renewed. Plus, Life was tanking way before Lost came back with new episodes.
Sometimes I wonder why certain shows don't catch on. I mean, sometimes it's understandable. I enjoy Kings, but it's not exactly a mainstream program. Life, though, felt like it had a good shot at being popular and it just didn't happen.
