I used to know someone in fandom who crusaded against references to "Peter Davidson." Unfortunately, she wasn't successful.

I know she wasn't successful, because only a few days ago, I saw a "favorite Doctors" list with Peter DaviDson on it. :(

one of the characters mentioned hearing "canon." No, he was hearing cannon going boom.

Unusual mistake. Generally, people manage to correctly spell that kind of cannon.

What really gets me is how the author in question chose to write a medical story and then blatantly stated she didn't do the research. Bizarre.
