Chicago TARDIS recap: Sunday

Saturday recap
This day was less packed than the previous two, since programming ran from just 10am to 6pm.
At 10, I went to the brunch. I ended up at Yee Jee Tso's table. He was very nice, and the food was good. It was my first proper meal at a table in three days. Brunch lasted till around 11:30. At that point, I went over to Main Programming and listened to Rob Shearman read from his book Love Songs for the Shy and Cynical.
At noon, I almost attended Fandumb (the stupid things fans do) but went to the Paul McGann, India Fisher, and Jason Haigh-Ellery session instead. (If anyone reading this entry went to Fandumb, please fill me in!)
Next up, it was time for another photo! This one was with Paul, Daphne Ashbrook, Yee Jee, and India. Props to India, BTW, for consistently being nice and making sure to say hi each time I saw her. Not that any of the other guests were rude, far from it, but she stood out. :)
By this point, I was walking around with a new friend who wanted to go to Con Staff Talkback. So we did. A handful of other people showed up, too. We mentioned things that could be improved for the next con (all minor, I think), and what worked well with this one. I think almost everything was really good. Areas for improvement included more prominent and better signage so people knew where to go, and better promotion of the advantages of All-Access and Reserved membership.
At 3, I went for Paul and Daphne's autographs. Again, choosing which photos to buy was tough. They were all so great. I went with a single shot of Daphne, plus one of Paul with Sylvester McCoy. My final purchase in the Dealers' Room was a talking keychain that includes Dalek voices, K9 speaking, and the TARDIS dematerializing.
I had kind of developed an obsession with getting my photo taken with the TARDIS, and finally, finally had my chance at around 3:55. At 4, Waters of Mars was shown.
The last formal event was Closing Ceremonies (or "Ceremony") at 5. The guests said goodbye, and some of them actually did have to leave right then. (Others stuck around until the next day.)
I then saw my opportunity to have my photo taken with a Dalek model. Most people had their pics taken outside the Dalek, but at some points it was opened up and anyone who could fit inside and wanted to do so could be photographed that way. So I climbed inside the Dalek for my shot. :) In fact, I took photos of several other people with the TARDIS or Dalek and still have to e-mail the pics to them.
And yes, I did get a con button handed to me while I was waiting for my photo with the Dalek!
With any luck, I'll be back at the con next year.
Ended up with the keychain mentioned above, numerous autographs, a con button, the con booklet, four autographed pictures, the second season of Iris Wildthyme audios, five DVDs to give to a relative, Castle of Fear audio, a shirt designed by
prof_pangaea, and the photos I took with my digital camera. A very nice haul, I think.

Date: 2009-12-03 03:33 am (UTC)Glad you had a ball! I'm sorry you got the "I don't remember" treatment from Mr. McGann regarding the TV movie. But it happens, especially if your a popular actor :P. At least you got to get your picture taken with the TARDIS and a Dalek...I usually run in get an autograph picture, listen to the actors and then run out again.
Well back to research *groans*

From what I've heard of her, this doesn't surprise me - she seems like a really lovely person.
