Just went over to ff.net to check out the Doctor Who just-in page and wished I had chosen a different day to do so. There's an author over there using the word "Drose" in her summaries.
I had the misfortune to come across a fic that nicknamed Martha 'Moper' Jones, had Rose describing her as “That…that…that…selfish, ignorant, posing, arrogant, two-faced…co…woman” whom the TARDIS hates and who 'nitpicks at everything I do, never mind that I’ve been a companion for longer' (for example, throwing temper tantrums over Rose using the plug she uses for her hair dryer), dismissed Rose's return as 'Oh, she was Joan, after she was Rose, but she's really a Time Lord and if this makes no sense, WHO CARES?' (curtails rant hastily) and called Ten 'Theta' over and over again.
I saw the same story. Rose was totally OOC, and the Martha bashing was incredibly juvenile. :( The author also posted an anti-Mickey fic, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Donna bashing pop up at any time.
I talked about it in my journal. I feel better now.
But seriously, I think that bit where Rose is all 'You fell in love with me when neither of us knew the other and I forgive you for going off with Reinette' sums the writer's attitude up.
