Why ff.net should go on moderated status

So, I'm over at fanfiction.net just about every day, hoping to see something worth reading. More often, however, I find crap like the following in the Doctor Who section:

it's a reunion story with jack in it an the geast star face of boe but what happands when the doctor gets to pete's world.

And that was just the summary! Somehow I made it all the way through the abysmal first chapter, as well. Looking back, though, I'm not sure how.

On a brighter note, I might be doing DW recs for [livejournal.com profile] rec50 again. At least, I volunteered and am waiting to hear back. I made 50 recs over there in 2006 and by now I think I can come up with a lot of new ones.

Have you heard about God Awful Fan Fiction?

http://www.godawful.net/

It's a great place for snark, catharsis, and reassuring yourself that not everyone writes like that. Check it out! I have a feeling that a lot of what you find would be welcome cannon fodder... ^_~

I hope the mod approves my Godawful account quickly. I just ventured into the Harry Potter section over at ff.net. I don't know that I can come up with the appropriate words to describe my horror, but I can sure try! I also made a few X-Files finds that depressed me. Sharing the pain with others (or perhaps it's actually spreading it to them?) would help.

On a more positive note, I'm going to be doing a week's worth of DW recs at the new Teaspoon comm, [livejournal.com profile] calufrax. The hard part will be picking which seven, out of many great stories, that I want to spotlight.
