There is no justice.
Sep. 15th, 2008 04:49 pmThe anti-Gwen comm that asks "What's a Harpy Jack?" (no, I don't know what a "Harpy Jack" is, either) has chosen a winner for its Gwen-bashing contest, and it isn't my story. Now, that is just not right. I read the winning entry, and I'm sure my fic is way worse. Therefore, I should have won. Let's just ignore the fact that to be eligible, I would have had to join the comm, then post and properly tag my entry. As we all know, rules should apply only when they are convenient to us.
However! I found a three-year-old printout of an unfinished Spike/Xander story from my Buffy days and I really feel like I should wrap it up and post it, because I like most of what I wrote. This is good. Back when I wrote it, I even had the sense to save the file on a website instead of on my previous (dead) computer so I don't need to retype a thing.
While I'm at it, I ought to finish my ancient Buffy WIPs. I have an idea for how to end one of them, only it involves ripping off Jack London's Call of the Wild epilogue and totally going against the tone of the rest of the fic. I'm uncomfortable with the thought of sticking a downer ending on what has all along been an extended piece of fluff. It just doesn't seem right. I'll have to think of a way to include my new idea and conclude the story in an appropriately light manner.
