NaNoWriMo

Like some of you, I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year. My account is here. (ETA: I forgot to say before, writing buddies are welcome!)

First I thought I'd write a vampire novel. The Twilight series vastly amuses me and I was going to do a shorter vampire story earlier this year. Never got around to it.

OTOH, while watching the Breeders' Cup yesterday, I got to thinking. Horse racing is my favorite sport and I'd enjoy writing about it.

So now I'm torn. I'd enjoy either subject, and combining them doesn't make much sense (horse-racing vampires?!?). Maybe I should flip a coin.

I suppose horse-racing vampires are better than sparkly, baseball-playing vampires. ;)

It would be very cracky indeed, but I'm warming up to the idea. Potential plots are running through my head as I type.

True, and that could be really creepy. I have a few days to decide so I'll be putting some more thought into this decision.

Maybe I could do something with that idea. Hmmm. It reminds me that I recently received a horse catalog in the mail, and one of the items being sold was a photo of a racehorse attempting to bite a competitor in deep stretch of a race. I found that picture online (http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm102/closer73/savages_on_the_stretch.jpg). Now I'm getting ideas from it.

Heh. It's funny -- when I first saw this post and it had no replies, I wanted to say, "If you don't want to write horse-racing vampires, you could write vampiric racehorses." Then I decided that would be smart-ass and didn't post. Glad to see someone else did, though. ;-)

I really should sign up for NaNoWriMo sometime. I've already got a cracking idea for a novel...I'm just too sodding lazy to write it at the moment.

My fic backlog is enormous enough as it is :p

I have a ton of stuff I probably should finish or at least work on, but the only writing project I'm committed to at the moment is the cliche-swap ficathon. If I do nothing else, I'll get that finished. The word minimum is 500 and I know the pairing I'm going to write, so that one's looking good.

I wanted to do NaNoWriMo last year and simply didn't. I'm a sad, sad procrastinator. :( So this year, I'm forcing myself to complete the thing. Or trying to, anyway.

Yes, I was thinking about things in a logical manner at first. A cracky idea is now beginning to form in my brain.
