My Cherry Ames boxset from Amazon.com has arrived! Now I have something new to read. I started the first book, Cruise Nurse, today, but haven't had a chance to get too far into it. The weather is actually nice here (above freezing!) so I went out on my bike for a while.

Question for anyone who's watched Demons: I heard that it's really terrible. Is it the Twilight kind of terrible, where its very badness is fascinating? Or is it the boring kind of terrible, like Crusoe? Basically, will it entertain me?

Bwahahahahahahahaaaahahahaha! Your Icon! Did Little Miss Unclear on 1970s Technology ever reply to that? I'd LOVE to know her answer!

(As for your questions, I have no idea. I've never seen the show.)

I believe she withdrew, licking her wounds. Maybe one of her friends PM'd her to tell her to STFU.

Someone on the anon meme created the icon. I figured it deserved one of my slots. :D

As for the 2nd question, I belong to a group called [livejournal.com profile] demonisers, whose goal is to mock it utterly. You might want to check some of the posts there first.

I'm just about to watch the last episode of the series. ;)

And yay for Cherry Ames! *suddenly realises you're not the person on my f-list I've been talking to about Cherry* Did you see the Cherry Ames icons I made a few weeks ago?

I'll definitely look at that comm. I think it'll help me make my decision.

Recently I saw [livejournal.com profile] livii using a Cherry Ames icon and she mentioned that you created it. I didn't see the original icons post on your journal back then, but I just now found it by searching your tags. And you also have Trixie Belden icons! This is just too tempting.

There will be more of both, the next time I have a free weekend.

Trixie Belden has been my best loved series heroine since I was little. And I've got the gorgeous hardcovers with colored illustrations that are just begging to be made into icons.

If there are any other series you want icons of, let me know. I have a lot of girls series books of that vintage and older.

I loved Trixie Belden! My mother had a few of the hardcovers, and I collected almost all the paperbacks. I don't have them anymore, though. I didn't bring my books with me when I went off to college and then my mother moved. I told her to just give away the books. :( Wish I hadn't done that.

The first 15 or so Trixies were recently reprinted and may still be in print. :) The others may be easy enough to collect up on the internet or at library booksales. I accumulated almost a complete collection for the library this way.

Demons is indeed entertaining in the lulzy way.

And I've only ever read one Cherry Ames book in my early teens. So long ago now D: I remember it was about a lost perfume recipe and one of the ingredients was something called Silver Lace and there was a bracelet in there somewhere as well. I rather enjoyed it :)

Sorry about the ridiculously long and badly worded post there.

I think I must give Demons a try, then!

Before this, I'd read only one Cherry Ames book. It was entertaining. The one you mention, with "Silver Lace," is in my boxset (Boarding School Nurse).

I'm going to read more of Cruise Nurse tonight. My next purchase will be of the first books in the series.
